Distracted

I have a midterm for my Tax class on Wednesday.  I'm trying very hard to study because it's a very, very hard class (for me, math-dumb girl).  It's not just the subject matter that's killing me, it's also that I'm so very, very, very distracted.  On the other hand, the last several days have been very productive on the adoption front.

The Dean of the law school I attend has approved my variance, meaning that it is approved that I miss 3 weeks worth of classes without being dropped for the semester.  This was one of the last things, outside of our control, on which we were waiting.  I can't tell you how happy it makes me; I think better described as "at peace it makes me".  I will never, ever have to leave our little Munchkin again.

We had one more document requested by the judge.  I was quite proud to have our part completed in less than 20 minutes flat.  I was not quite so pleased to learn that the individual signing off on the document failed to have it notarized, but that has now been remedied so I will (try) not to get my undies bunched up about it.

We also received some updates from the Land of Vlad; this was the most exciting of all.

What else . . . .  Chad and I have both had our labs redrawn.  Can you believe our first sets of lab work would expire by 3 days???  Syd's visa is underway.

Okay, now that I lay out what has been accomplished I realize how much is yet to be accomplished.  No worries; it's all good.  I purchased an iPad - and the iPad has a nice, long list.  This is good because we're at 18 days until departure!!!!!  If anyone else is counting, you may have noticed that we lost a day since the last post.  No, I'm not trying to account for the major time change we'll go through (because, come on, that would require math).  Our departure date has moved up to the 4th, but we'll get to be together in Paris - for approximately 95 minutes.

Okay, back to Tax I . . . Remember to include the unpaid principal of your mortgage when calculating the amount realized at the time of disposition of your property.  Fun, huh?

Until next time,
Cameo
